Hello! I’m Nicole 🙂
I’m the CEO/Head Photographer of Little North Mountain Creative, and I started this business officially about 5.5 years ago. I have done photography all my life, usually using my little sisters as my subjects, but also the occasional flood and wildlife. I’m Shenandoah County born and raised, and love where I live! I’m a mom of 4 – soon to be 5 – so my days are very busy. I’m a stay at home mom, and rarely leave my kids, which means the youngest ones are usually tagging along to my photo shoots.
I’m married to a mountain man who loves the outdoors – hunting and fishing in them mostly. He’s been supportive of my side job, especially when it gets him gorgeous images of his wall hangers…
I am also a small scale homesteader , with focus in regenerative agriculture/permaculture and organic methods. I’m holistic focused, and love all things natural living and traditional lifestyles. You can find more about that on my homestead website… back to photography…
I’m obsessed with lifestyle and candid photos, and that’s what I primarily shoot. I can do poses, buuutttt I don’t like to. I want to capture artwork of your family moments that you’ll hang up on the wall. So we prioritize “prompting” rather than posing, which is where we give you fun activities and help “set up” a candid moment.
I love all sessions, but I definitely have a preference of families, maternity, and newborns. Weddings are so much fun, but they are hard for me to do often with my family at the stage it’s at currently. I have found a slight loop hole into that though, and that’s elopements/micro weddings! While sometimes they can be just as time consuming as regular weddings, most of the time they are quick and just enough time to make me miss my babies.
I’m a life-long creative, and it will never leave me. I really enjoy so many different types of mediums from acrylic painting to web design, and my mind definitely flows between them often (I blame the ADHD…). That’s why I decided to change my business name from Little North Mountain Photography to Little North Mountain Creative, to give myself freedom to flow between whatever creative skill I’m enjoying at the moment. Although, photography and videography seem to be the forerunners most often.
I would love to capture some wall art for you if you’ll have me!
